In Japan the first tea of the year is traditionally picked just after or around the 88th night of the New Year according to the lunar calendar. 88 Nights is the most eagerly awaited Shincha tea from the spring harvest. Tea leaves picked around this time have thickened such that when processed the resulting bitterness and sweetness are well balanced. Enjoy a very flavorful, but not too bold taste of springtime in each cup.
