How to Decide on your Tea Packages?

Tea is among the most preferred drinks around the world, and quality tea specifically is always in demand. Among other factors, tea packaging also plays a vital role in selling tea across countries. Product packaging is a crucial part of marketing and logistics as it influences your customer on first look. Many manufacturers spend hundreds of dollars to get the perfect packaging that is suitable for the people of a specific supplied region. It is an unavoidable fact that product packaging makes the first impression of your product to your customers, and it is vital to get their attention with great design and material.

Packaging Characteristics

The packaging must have some characteristics to deem it as good and customer-friendly.

  1. Before choosing a tea package design, you should make a list of requirements and other things which are needed in order to make the process go smoothly.
  2. Your packaging should be convenient in a way that when it is transported from place to place, it is easy to handle and carry.
  3. Make sure your tea packaging has some creativity, and it stands out from your competitors. Add some illustrations to enhance the design as it will promote your brand and its benefits to your customers.
  4. The baseline of the brand, purpose, and product details should be clear and easy to read on the packaging. It should communicate with your customer and show information about your brand quality and utility.
  5. Many vendors now go for modernistic and minimalistic designs to make packages attractive and eco-friendly. The eco-friendly packaging material attracts customers and saves a lot of extra waste.
  6. When making a design of tea package, check these points from the list:
  7. category or product type
  8. Brand name
  9. Variant (if any)
  10. Benefits of tea
  11. Functional Benefit
  12. Why customer should trust your brand
  13. Size
  14. Weight
  15. Content details
  16. Origin of prefecture or cultivar
  17. Blend or organic etc

TEA PACKAGING

Tea packaging varies from country to country or region. Manufacturers make product packages with the target audience in mind to make them more impactful. They do not supply the same designed product to every country because people’s tastes and necessities vary from each other. Most commonly, you will see three kinds of tea packaging for storing and delivering, each beneficial in its own way.

  1. Pouches:

Loose tea leaves can be packed into three different kinds of pouches.

Foil stand-up pouches have become popular in recent years for packing loose tea leaves. Gusset at the bottom makes it stand up straight, and it is also tightly sealed. It is made of aluminum, easy to use, and very durable for packing tea leaves. It also protects tea from UV light, oxidation, moisture, etc.

Foil gusset bags differ from the category mentioned above in terms of shape. It has a flat rectangular bottom, but the stand-up pouch has around with extra space on the bottom. Both have not much of a difference as they are airtight sealed and convenient to use.

Paper pouches are made of thick paper with an airtight seal on the top. It is available in different colors if you like to spice up your packaging. These have a square bottom, stand perfectly on the shelves, and are easy to pack in a box when delivering out. However, it might not last long, and I have chosen another container to store tea leaves for a longer time. But, these are eco-friendly and composite faster than other materials.

  1. Customized bottle storage Container

Loose leaf tea is also packed in a plastic jar with a seal on the top to keep it away from moisture and preserve the flavor. Some pack the product in airtight cardboard or tin containers but tea leaves are wrapped in an airtight plastic pack in it. No matter the choice, it must be airtight and under a suitable temperature.

  1. Teabags:

Some manufacturers make tea bags which are common and widely used due to the convenience it offers with minimal design. Teabags are made of filter paper or silken food-grade plastic or cotton muslin, make sure to choose biodegradable material. They are either sealed with staple or glue or just tied with string. Some tea bags, mostly 3-D or pyramid style, have a string for easy dipping in the mug with a tea label tag at one end. Other shapes of teabags include round and rectangle which floats on the top of the water when brewing and is easy to remove after steeping. Teabags also come in handy for various reasons at home and thus make the best option.

Packaging Process

Filling tea packets is now mostly done through machines that carefully measure and dispense the right amount of leaves in the pack. Instead of doing the hand labor of filling containers and pouches, put blended tea in a hopper which will fill it within seconds. Bags or containers are then sealed and packed in large cartons.

As for tea bags, due to the small size, a particular machine is used for filling the bags. It will fill thousands of any shaped tea bags in minutes. A tea bag contains 2.27 grams of loose tea leaves which are ideal for making a cup. These tea bags are then sealed into the plastic wrapper and then cardboard boxes.

Final Word

Tea packaging requires as much effort and consideration as the other process involving growing and processing tea. If you are a wholesale dealer or thinking of starting your own tea supply brand, then you should carefully go through each step to make your brand stand out from the rest. Make an awesome packaging design, use biodegradable materials, select containers that can preserve tea leaves for a longer time in any circumstances, and lastly make an effective packaging process. Each step is crucial in deciding your tea packages design and making your business grow.
