What makes this matcha organic and certified?

This Matcha has been produced according to the strict guidelines of the Japan Agricultural Standard (JAS) — Japan's national organic certification system. JAS certification requires that at least 95% of ingredients are produced organically (no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, no GMO), that production methods meet specific environmental criteria, and that annual inspections by a registered certifying body verify compliance. The JAS Organic seal is equivalent to USDA Organic in the United States under the 2014 equivalency agreement.

How do I brew Organic Kagoshima Ceremonial Matcha?

Dissolve a half to one teaspoon (2 to 4 grams) of matcha powder into 2 ounces of hot water (around 175°F / 80°C, not boiling). Sift the matcha first to ensure no clumps remain. Let it sit for about 60 seconds, then whisk in a gentle circular motion with a traditional bamboo whisk for about 30 to 60 seconds. An electric handheld whisk also works if you don't have the bamboo tool. The result should be foamy on top with a smooth, creamy texture.

Can I make iced matcha from this?

Yes — Organic Kagoshima Ceremonial Matcha works well as iced matcha for warm weather. Fill a glass three-quarters with ice and water, then add the contents of one matcha stick or about 2 to 4 grams of powder. Stir to dissolve and enjoy. For a portable cold matcha, add the powder directly to a water bottle, shake vigorously until well-mixed, and drink on the go. A spritz of lemon juice adds a refreshing tangy variation for those who like citrus notes.

What sizes does this Matcha come in?

Two sizes are available. The 30-gram (1.1-ounce) size is a vacuum-sealed tin can with a Washi paper label — sufficient for approximately 15 to 30 servings of tea. The 500-gram (1 pound 2-ounce) size is for high-volume use such as cafes, food service operations, or households that consume matcha daily — providing approximately 250 to 500 servings. The smaller tin is also packaged in single-serving sticks for convenience.
